Day 1. Transfer from the airport to the hotel, afternoon visit to Islamabad: Pakistan Monument Museum, Pakistan Railway Museum, Marghala Hills (Daman e koh), dinner at a Pakistani restaurant, overnight stay at the hotel
Day 2. Flight from Islamabad to Skardu.
If you cannot fly, transfer by car from Islamabad to Naran via the famous Karakoram Highway
The Karakoram Highway is 1,300 km long and is the highest paved road in the world. It stretches from Rawalpindi to Kashgar, connecting Pakistan and Western China, and follows the ancient Silk Road. Its construction lasting 20 years is a joint work of Pakistan and China, it was opened to tourist traffic in 1986. Its highest point is the Khunjerab Pass (4,693 m above sea level) and it is the highest road border crossing in the world, but due to climatic conditions it is it is closed to traffic from November to April. It is worth knowing that this border crossing is not open to tourists. Due to its height and the very difficult conditions in which it was built, it was also called the "eighth wonder of the world".
Day 3. Preparation for the expedition and visiting Skardu's attractions. Visit to the Soq Valley and Upper Kachura Lake.
If you cannot fly - travel from Naran to Skardu and rest in Skardu, afternoon trip to Sadpara Lake with its amazing emerald water color. Overnight stay at a hotel
Skardu is located in the Gilgit-Baltistan province of Pakistan. The Skardu Valley is approximately 10 km wide and 40 km long. It is located at the confluence of the Shigar River and the Indus River. It is surrounded by the vast Karakoram range. Together with the nearby lakes and mountains, it is an important tourist destination in Pakistan. Skardu is Baltistan's main town with rustic hotels and thrift stores for climbers, and is usually packed with trekkers and mountaineers in the summer. It is also the largest district of the Northern Areas. It is the starting point for mountain expeditions and mountain lovers who hike to the Baltoro Glacier, K2 base camp and Concordia, Baltistan is an area where some of the highest peaks in the world are located in the Karakoram range. Baltistan is an amazingly diverse region. It is home to the Balti people, originally of Tibetan origin. Before the advent of Islam, the people of the area practiced shamanism and Buddhism, and the preservation of many pre-Islamic features makes it an intriguing part of Pakistan.
Day 4. Jeep ride from Skardu to Arando (2,770 m above sea level) Trip: 5 - 6 hours
After an early breakfast, we will start our jeep ride towards the first camp of our trek. After leaving Skardu, we cross the bridge over the mighty Indus River in the settlement of Thorgo. From here the road runs through the dunes of the Sarfaranga Desert, then rises between steep mountain slopes, from where you can see the entire Shigar Valley and the confluence of the Braldu and Basha rivers. Once we reach Shigar village and head towards the west bank of the river. After a few hours of driving, we will take a short break at Chotron to see the sulfur hot springs before heading up the valley to the village of Doko. From here we go to Arando, located at the foot of the Chogo Lungma glacier, where we set up camp for the night. (overnight stay in tents)
Day 5. Start of trekking from Arando to Manpikuru. (3,325 m above sea level) - 5-6 hour trekking with the opportunity to admire the Spantik pyramid,
From Arandu we go along the northern side of the Chogo Lungma glacier to the summer settlement of Bukhum. We will cover about 600 meters of level difference along a well-marked path. After crossing several streams flowing from the glacier, we reach the camp in Chogo Brangsa. (overnight stay in tents)
Day 6. Trekking from Chogo Brangsa to Bolocho (3,800 m above sea level) - 7-8 hours trekking along the northern edge of the Chogo Lungma glacier, passing through the settlement of Gharincho, then around a small lake and reaching the Bolocho glacier, where at the base of the glacier at this named after it, we will set up camp for the night in a grassy spot adjacent to a small, clear stream. Along the way, wonderful panoramas of the Spantik and Laila peaks (overnight stay in tents)
Day 7. Trekking from Bolocho to Spantik Base Camp (4,300 m above sea level) 6-7 hours. (accommodation in tents)
Another early start will allow us to climb the Chogo Lungma glacier. In total, we will overcome about 600 meters of level difference to reach the Spantik base.
Day 8. Rest day at Spantik Base Camp (4,300 m above sea level)
Day 9. Start of acclimatization and climbing activities
Day 10 - 21. High-mountain activities: acclimatization in intermediate camps on the Spantik slopes: C1 ~ 5,000 m above sea level, C2 - 5,600 m above sea level, C3 - 6,000 m above sea level, attempt to reach the Spantik peak according to weather conditions
Day 22. Return trek from Spantik Base Camp to Manpikuru (3,325 m above sea level) 9–10 hours (overnight stay in tents)
Day 23. Trekking from Manpikura to Arando 3 - 4 hours. and a jeep ride from Arando to Skardu - overnight stay at the hotel
Day 24. Flight from Skardu to Islamabad.
In case of bad weather, drive from Skardu to Naran by car via Babusar Top
Day 25. Time for some last minute shopping at Jinnah Super Market and Safa Gold Mall.
