We offer you an ADVENTURE in Pakistan. A route that will take you to some of the most attractive, unique and extraordinary places. Where people are hospitable and friendly. Where the views remain in your memory and come back to you long after you return home... Where you can face difficulties and your own weaknesses. Where the reward for the effort is great satisfaction and delight with everything you see around you. Where you can get to know another culture and other traditions, but also where you will see how universal and close to us they are.
First, a moment in Islamabad, but after a short rest we set off - for now by car - to the Gilgit-Baltistan province, partly through the famous Karakoram Highway, and partly through the Kaghan and Naran Valleys, which are part of the Kunhar River valley. After reaching Naran, we stop for the night, but before that we go to a traditional bazaar full of local handicrafts... The next day offers wonderful landscapes on the way through the high Babusar Top pass (4,173 m above sea level). It is especially worth seeing the picturesque Lulusar Lake, where the Kunhar River originates, surrounded by the peaks from which it takes its name. After reaching Chilas and Jaglot, a moment of rest in one of the most important tripoints on our planet - the place where three monumental mountain ranges meet: the Himalayas, the Hindu Kush and the Karakoram. A drive through the Rondu Valley allows you to get a taste of the Karakoram, the magnificent and still wild mountains that are the cradle of giants - four of Pakistan's five eight-thresher peaks: K2, Broad Peak, Gasherbrum I and Gasherbrum II.
After reaching Skardu, we rent motorbikes and go on a short trip to see Manthal Buddha Rock. This rock was unknown to the world until the early 20th century due to its isolated location. It was not until 1906 that Scottish traveler Ella Christie described it in her book about a journey to western Tibet and brought it to international attention. Since then, many steps have been taken to preserve, protect and preserve this monument. Skardu is located at the confluence of the Shigar River and the Indus River. They are surrounded by the vast Karakoram range. Together with the nearby lakes and mountains, it is an important tourist spot in Pakistan, which attracts tourists from all over Pakistan and many countries of the world. It is the main city of Baltistan and the largest district of the Northern Areas. It is the starting point for mountain expeditions and mountain lovers who hike to the Baltoro Glacier, the K2 base camp and Concordia, which is why you can meet the most famous climbers and travelers here.
On our trip we will visit the most attractive places in this part of Gilgit - Baltistan. We will take you to Shangrila Resort, located at an altitude of 2,500 meters on the shore of Lower Kachura Lake, where you can enjoy the view of blooming rose bushes and the still wild post-glacial Upper Kachura Lake. You will also be able to try some off-roading on the way to the secluded Soq Valley, which specializes in trout farming.
With us you will also see the Kharmang Valley (also known as Kartaksho) where the Indus River flows into the territory of Pakistan. Kahrmang in the Balti language consists of two parts, khar means "fort" and mang means "abundant". The Valley owes its name to Ali Sher Khan Anchan, who built many forts in the region due to its strategic importance. Our destination will be the waterfalls in the Valley.
Montokha Waterfall is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Pakistan. A waterfall flowing down the rocks creates lines of gushing water. Delicate water mist enhances the scent of nature and is perfect refreshment on a hot day. Next to the waterfall there is a restaurant serving tasty dishes, including trout bred at a nearby fish farm. The picturesque nature of this place, easy access for all tourists and tasty dishes make the Montokha Waterfall remain in your memory for a long time.
Khamosh Abshar, despite the enormity of the flowing water, is called the "Silent Waterfall" and is one of the highest waterfalls in Pakistan. It is particularly attractive when masses of water from a melting glacier are supported by water from recent rainfall. This is when you can feel the power of nature the most, and the power of falling water arouses respect even in the bravest.
For balance, you will also see the desert. And not just any desert, because Sarfaranga Cold Desert is the highest cold desert in the world (2,226 m above sea level). The desert, which extends over a large area around Skardu and extends far towards Shigar, has large sand dunes which are often covered with snow in winter. Off-road car rallies are organized every year in Sarfaranga Cold Desert, which are also a great tourist attraction. In the Shigar Valley adjacent to the Skardu Valley you will see Zharba Tso or Blind Lake is a lake with a beautiful panorama of the surrounding peaks. It serves as a water reservoir for the inhabitants of this part of the Valley. In Shigar itself, we will invite you to see and learn the secrets of the old fort and one of the oldest in the area, the tiny, beautifully decorated Amburik mosque.
We will also take you to Khaplu, where we will pay a visit to the Fort/Palace built in 1840 by Yabgo Raja Daulat Ali Khan of Khaplu, which combines Tibetan, Kashmiri, Ladakhi, Balti and Central Asian influences. Later, we will go over 200 m higher along a path winding along a rocky ridge (20 min) to the place where the older palace of the rulers of the Valley stood - Thoksi Khar, "Palace at the Top" with a wonderful panorama of the Khaplu Valley. You will also see the old six-hundred-year-old Chaqchan Mosque.
We will also go to Hushe, the last, highest village of Ghangche District, once extremely remote and the impoverished Hushe Valley. Climbers and trekkers arriving through the Gondogoro Pass from Baltoro Glacier, Concordia or K2 Base Camp descend to the village of Hushe to reach Skardu. From this valley you can also go to the Gasherbrum massifs and Masherbrum, also known as K1 (7,821 m above sea level). We will go for a short trip to the viewpoint to admire the Masherbrum pyramid.
The trip to Basho Valley and Basho Meadows via the Basho suspension bridge is the biggest challenge of this trip. You have to be prepared for a lot of challenges while traveling off-road to the high valley. This route provides a large dose of adrenaline. Thanks to this trip you can get to know life in a traditional mountain village where time has stopped. You can also learn about unique, traditional methods of breeding cows and goats. Basho Meadows is a vast area in the Valley where local shepherds graze their cattle. During the summer, residents of the valley temporarily move with their cattle to higher mountain meadows that provide fodder for their cows, goats and sheep. Most of the residents' income comes from breeding and selling milk, making butter and other similar products. During the summer season, Basho Meadows is one of the must-visit places near Skardu.
After all the attractions that we will show you, all that remains is to return the motorcycles and return from Skardu to Naran and Islamabad, a day to prepare for the trip, transfer to the airport before departure and the end of the ADVENTURE...
This trip, like our other events in Pakistan, has one more huge advantage. It differs from events organized in commercial places, where only the known name of the place is important, but the number of tourists staying there at the same time makes it impossible to truly "experience" these places...
Therefore, if you want to taste ADVENTURE, if you want to get to know the REAL culture and tradition, if you want to commune with NATURE minimally changed by people - come with us to Pakistan
